About the United Arts Council of Raleigh & Wake County:
The United Arts Council of Raleigh & Wake County, Inc. is a private nonprofit that strives to builds better communities through support and advocacy of the arts.
Since 1990, United Arts has served as the umbrella fundraising organization for the arts in Wake County. To accomplish this mission, they raise money from businesses, individuals, foundations and government. Funds are distributed back to the community through grants to artists and arts organizations, the Artists in the Schools Program, Community Arts Reach and Creative Explorations teacher training.
United Arts' mission is to strengthen the Triangle community's cultural and economic well-being by expanding arts education, arts services and arts programming.
United Arts also works to promote growth in Wake County through a vibrant arts environment, partner with all Wake County governments to encourage dynamic arts programming in all Wake County communities, and encourage the creative spirit in all Wake County individuals. Their mission also includes increasing funding from the public and private sectors to support the arts in Wake County.
United Arts puts artists in schools, runs a Community Arts Reach program to assist Wake towns outside of Raleigh in providing high quality, professional cultural arts programs such as art summer camps and classes, festival performances and technical support, and much more.
United Arts runs a fundraiser called "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner?" each fall to help generate funds for the non-proft to distribute to artists, schools and throughout the community. |
